Coming HomeI can’t believe how quickly the summer has been speeding by! I have been teaching group classes, private classes and workshops and loving it! It’s been wonderful to see the growth of my students artwork! And, of course, I have been doing lots of painting!
This painting below, Azaleas, is a commission piece of my collector’s back yard. What a beautiful piece of property they have!
Here are some progression shots….
Pastel En Perigord
Le Musée du Pastel de Saint-Aulaye
July 4th – Sept. 2
Pastel En Perigord is a beautiful exhibit in The Museum of Pastel in Saint-Aulaye, France. I, along with 4 other American pastel artists, were invited to exhibit 3 paintings. Unfortunately, I am unable to travel to France to see it. I feel so honored to be part of this show and to have been awarded “Prix pour la technique“ for “Coming Home” which included a big box of Girault pastels!
The July ’18 issue of Pratique Des Arts, a French Art Magazine, features numerous articles of wonderful pastels artists. Here’s a photo of my page. Thank goodness for Google Translate to understand what was written!
My article explained the progression and inspiration of my painting,
Morning Has Broken.
Morning Has Broken was also featured in Pastel Journal Magazine, along with After the Rain.

I am now booking workshops for 2019 and 2020. If interested in having me come to teach with your pastel society or art center, please email me: firstname.lastname@example.org
