Out in the Sticks 9 x 12 pastel

Driving through the town of Elijay, GA, I took a turn down a side street and discovered this barn down a dead end. It was so backlit and unsure if it would make a good photo but I loved the composition and the contrast of the shadow and light hitting the roof of the barn.

Elijay- reference photo

I must admit that the photo inspired the color…. playing those warm tones of the path against the cool blues in the barn.  There were only a few minor changes from the reference.
