Linger Longer
There is a wonderful field and horse pasture, by my house, that I drive by often. Every time I pass by, this one particular tree captures my eye. Each time I see it, the color and leaves vary and I can’t help but be drawn to it.
Most of the landscapes I paint are plein air (painted outside) in which I paint small sized (9 x 12 or 11 x 14). So, time to take on the challenge of painting a larger size landscape (16 x 20).
My goal for “Linger Longer” was just what the name implies. With all the color variations and manipulations, I am hoping the viewer wants to “linger longer” as their eye travels through the piece, just as I wanted to hang out longer amongst the grasses.
