It was my privilege and pleasure to be able to donate a scholarship to one of the winners of Anita’s ArtsCool Art Contest in Buford, GA. to Ashley Duren, a fifth grader.
The theme of the painting contest was to visually answer the question, “If I could fly I ……”. Ashley wrote on the back of her painting, “This pelican was stuck in an oil spill, wishing to fly again..”
The scholarship program “Arts for the Birds” was started by my dear friend, Anna Banguilan, to honor her mother Lela Ruth Banguilan.
